Give me the calmness,
to accept things,
that I canīt change;
the courage,
to change things,
that I can change;
and the wisdom,
to distinguish one from the other.

Be thoughtful with your thoughts, they become words.
Be thoughtful with your words, they become actions.
Be thoughtful with your actions, they become habits.
Be thoughtful with your habits, they become characteristics.
Be thoughtful with your character, it becomes your destiny.

The positive mind does not know borders. It has the special power, to deal with problems.
People with a noble heart and a noble mind do not have to be afraid of what may come,
because this kind of heart and mind forms the future.
- Norman Vincent Peale -

emotional style, illness opens the doors to a reality, which is not open
to a healthy person. (Jean Houston)

We as doctors have the duty, to weigh probabilities and slow down expectations;
but from the probabilities ways lead to possibilities,
and itīs our duty to shine light on them and this light is hope. (Karl Menninger)

It all depends on how we see things, and not on how they are. (C.G. Jung)

The world breaks everybody, and afterwards many are strong on the broken points (Ernest Hemingway)

Thereīs only fate. If you know that, you will be free.

I canīt.
We really like to say that.
I canīt.
Itīs never true.

Safety
Safety is moving sand.
Safety is a wall of glass,
complete safety is a box of glass,
which keeps everything away from you:
happiness, pain, conciousness, change,
love, danger, truth and air -
break down the wall, befor you suffocate.
Let go of all safety,
you have nothing to lose but your chaings.
Stop clinging, free yourself!

Fear
Destroy hesitation before it grows and turns into fear.
Itīs the nature of fear to feed itself,
in good circumstances, it feeds itself unbelievable fast.
Reason is not fast enough to eliminate fear.
Fear is born out of reason, and it destroys reason.
One shouldnīt use reason to fight fear.
Fear must be wiped out.
Do not argument with fear.
Wipe it out of your mind the moment you realise it.
Use your own mantra to kill fear.
NEVER think first, under no circumstance.
Wipe it out.
Then think.
If you have to...

A life lived in fear is only lived half.

Donīt say when I have the time,
you might never have the time.
If not now - then when. (Talmud)

When I was young, I asked >llah for the power, to change the world.
At middle age one day I woke up to realise,
that half my life has passed and I had changed nobody.
So I asked Allah for the power to change the ones close to me,
who needed it most. Now Iīm old and my prayer is more simple:
"Allah, give me the power, to change at least myself." (Nasrudin)

Looking back, my life has been under the sign
of this wish for magical power;
how the destination of the magic wishes changed during time,
how I bit by bit took them out of the outer world into myself,
how I slowly aimed to not change things anymore,
but to change myself...
This would be the basic element of my life story. (Hermann Hesse)

Sympathy is the best possible protection, and as the great masters of the past always knew,
also the greatest source of healing. When you have a heavy illness and you imagine with sympathy,
to take up also the illnesses of others, who suffer like you, you will clean for sure the negative
karma, which is the root of your present and future suffering. I remember many extraordinary cases
in Tibet of people, who, after knowing they have terminal illness, gave away all their belongings
and went to the cemetery to await death. There they would practise taking up the suffering of others -
often with the surprising effect, that, instead of dying, they went home completely healed.
- Sogyal Rinpoche -

If you donīt believe in the impossible,
you will not even achieve the possible.

Thich Nhat Hanh

When the partners in a partnership donīt know themselves well enough and if they have not solved
their inner conflicts and knots in the soul, the partnership will be very difficult.

When we are aware that the people we love are transient, we will do everything to be happy with them now.

In my tradition it is expected of married people, that they accept each other like guests.
When we respect each other like that, love and happiness will last.

We mostly think that we lose things when we let go, things that make us happy. But indeed we will be
happier the more we let go.

Through the love in a partnership with one person, through learning the art to make the other one happy,
we can begin, to express our love for all beings.

Reconciliation does not need two people. By looking deeply we create reconciliation inside ourselves
and therefor the problem does not exist for us anymore.

Everytime we hear the bell of carefulness (e.g. a telephone or a church-bell), we can stop what weīre
doing and breathe carefully three times.

The more subtile our breath is, the more peace is in mind and body.
